Surah Al Jin Ayat 21 Tafseer

Para 29 - تَبٰرَكَ الَّذِیْ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

72.21-22

قُلْ اِنِّیْ لَاۤ اَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَّ لَا رَشَدًا(21) قُلْ اِنِّیْ لَنْ یُّجِیْرَنِیْ مِنَ اللّٰهِ اَحَدٌ ﳔ وَّ لَنْ اَجِدَ مِنْ دُوْنِهٖ مُلْتَحَدًاۙ (22)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

Say, “Indeed I am not the owner of any loss or benefit for you.”[1] Say, “None will save me from Allah and I will certainly not find refuge apart from Him.[1]

Commentary

Here, the negation of having power over loss or benefit is in the sense of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم not having ultimate control over these matters, as this is exclusive to Allah Almighty. Nonetheless, the Final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم does have power over loss or benefit by the will of Allah Almighty, an example of which is the Spring of Kawthar.

The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is informed here to tell the disbelievers that suppose if he did oppose the command of Allah Almighty and ascribed a partner to Him, nothing from creation would be able to save him from Allah’s wrath and punishment; during times of difficulty, neither would he have a helper and nor would he find refuge apart from Him.
